Volker Eysing, born in westphalian Muensterland, is an industrial designer from Kiel. The opening of his office as a freelance designer was based on his exam work in 2004; a functional swivel chair with an auto adaptive backrest concept. Together with the famous office chair manufacturer drabert (Minden) the implementation of the chair family IOS was developed in close collaboration. Award winning products followed for international companies such as Kinnarps, Martin Stoll, Sitag (CH) and Interstuhl. His work is focusing on the readability of products. Clear in construction, intelligent and above all simple to understand.
“The function of a thing usually characterizes the first thought, which the later form only develops.”
